| Certain additives can cause a variety of problems for those who are sensitive. Over the years we have observed patterns when it comes to these different reactions which may be helpful to you in trying to get to the bottom of your health issues. Monosodium glutamate commonly known as MSG (621) is the most important additive to avoid. Many people have problems with this additive but the most common issues people experience includes: digestive problems, asthma, headaches, migraines, & any itchy skin irritation including eczema. Some develop a strong thirst after eating foods containing MSG which they cannot quench for some hours. Most people try to avoid this flavour enhancer, but it can be found in many everyday foods. On labels it is only known as 621 or Flavour Enhancer 621. The foods to watch for are: flavoured potato chips (stick to plain salted), flavoured crackers including rice crackers (stick to plain salted but check labels as Preservatives.These additives are usually found on labels as numbers such as 221, 222, 249 and are laso known as nitrates or nitrites. etc have a strong association with sinus, hayfever, itchy skin conditions including eczema and scaly red skin irritations around the eyes.. These can be found in fruit drink, jams, sauces, processed meats as above, wine & beer. Unfortunately, most wines have preservatives, but if you limit your intake of these types of alcohol to three times a week, you may find this helpful unless you are very sensitive to preservatives. is very helpful. After removing offending substances you should be noticing a significant improvement in symptoms within a week.
